THE FORGOTTEN GIRLS
By Sara Blaedel

Book review by Heena Rathore www.thereadingbud.com

The Forgotten Girls is a decent psychological thriller with a really strong and unique plotline. This book is 7th in the Louise Rick/Camille Series but can be read as a stand-alone without having to read the earlier parts.

The book captures reader’s attention from the very beginning and kick-starts with a brilliant prologue. The story completely does justice to its genre and stays true to its promise of delivering an engaging thriller.

The story flows smoothly and engrosses the reader in such a way that you would want to complete the book in one sitting. The pace is excellent and successfully weaves all the elements of mystery, thrill, and surprise, plot twists and settings together. Thankfully, all the questions were answered by the end of the story, except for a few that will probably be revealed in the next part.

But, in spite of having a really strong plotline, the book fell short in terms of storytelling and characterization. I felt that both these elements were not as strong as one would expect them from a bestseller. But having said that, I was really surprised to see that the writing and the characters were still good enough to make me want to know what goes on in their life and keep turning the pages.

Regardless of the flaws, the author successfully pulls it off in terms of the suspense and the story. Being a fan of the genre I was happy to have read it and would recommend it to anyone who’s looking for an enjoyable mystery thriller book.

Even though I felt that the story telling was a little weak, I’m looking forward to read other books in this series because of the plot structure of this one.
