Across Borders

The dove soars over

Syrian refugee camps

and desert battlefields.

Her tears sprinkle the earth

with kindness.

The dove soars over

the graves and fences

dividing Israel and Palestine.

Her tears sprinkle the earth

with love.

The dove soars over

starving North Koreans

and Uighur captives.

Her tears sprinkle the earth

with freedom.

The dove soars over

Iranian nuclear sites

and Los Angeles gang wars.

Her tears sprinkle the earth

with peace.

The dove soars over

this troubled world

and our weary hearts.

Her tears sprinkle the earth

with hope.
