Beautiful Dreamer
Once upon a time
a scullery maid—
transformed
into a princess
by her
fairy godmother—
danced with a
dashing prince
and they
fell in love.
Fairy tales
where wishes
come true
with a wave
of a magic wand.
It isn’t really real - right?
Those fanciful tales that sail
us off to slumber-land
on a street named
Happily Ever After.
Yet
in a world
of
broken dreams
and
shattered promises
don’t you wish
it could
possibly
be
possible?
Lost
Sorry for your loss.
What an odd thing to say.
Don’t you think, sweetie?
It’s not like I’ll find you
if I look hard enough.
Like hide and seek.
Maybe it isn’t even
you that’s lost
…perhaps it’s me.
Under Wraps
He was a distant dad.
No hugs.
No, I love you.
Whispers of PTSD
kept under wraps.
Like his
Vietnamese body bag
