CRABGRASS AND STONE
I don’t see
The way it used to be.
Our aina belongs to someone else,
Haoles without memories
Of the crabgrass and stone entrance
And a coral road flanked by oleanders
Shivering pink blossoms
In the makai breeze.
aina: land
haoles: newcomers
makai: ocean
