ALM No.79, August 2025
SHORT STORIES
There once was a small albino chihuahua name Frost. He loved to ride on a Harley. From the day he was born he loved to go places whether it is in a car or on the bike. He just loves to ride on the bike the most.
One day Frost, his mom Amy, and his dad Jason decided to go for a ride on the bike. Frost was in his little blue backpack, and he had his goggles. They were going to his Grandma Ruth’s house; they need to get there before the birthday surprise got there. It is to be delivered in about two hours. On the way their Frost encounters some dogs at a park, people driving by and taking pictures, and some Bikers.
As they get started, one of the first thing Frost sees is a park filled with dogs. There are small dogs, medium size, and some very large dogs. They were all colors as well. The dogs were barking and running have a great time playing. Frost started barking and clawing at his moms back to stop so he can play as well. His mom told him to stop because they can’t stop, they had to be at his grandma’s house. Frost started to whine and pout.
As they got on the highway everyone who pasted by were taking pictures of the little white dog with his tongue hanging out, a smile on his face, and his little goggles on. There were all types of vehicles on the highway. As a big black Chevy SUV passed with about three kids in it, all that they heard was “Mom, look at the little dog, he’s on the back of that bike.” The mom looked over and was laughing right along with her kids. The kids was taking pictures of Frost.
As they were getting closer to grandma’s house, Frost saw some Bikers ahead of them. When they got closer, the Bikers started to wave them over.
Jason said, “We need to stop for gas.” So, they stopped at the next exit. The Bikers stopped with them.
The Biker that was the Road Captain, “He asked if they could take some pictures with him? He told Jason and Amy that they were on a charity run for the Children’s Hospital.”
“If they had a website so they could donate to the charity?” Jason asked.
The Road Captain told him the website. As they were finishing up with the pictures he asked, “Would it be ok if they showed they children Frost picture because this just might brighten their day.”
“Sure, we don’t mind,” Amy said. “We can take him up there someday soon. We would today but we need to get to my mom’s house.”
As they were getting ready to leave Jason gave them his phone number so that they can get together later so they all can go to the Children’s Hospital.
It took over an hour to get to his grandma’s house. Once they got there Frost was the happiest dog, he was barking and jumping all around Grandma Ruth. It was like he was telling her about all the adventures that he had on the way to her house. About 30 minutes after they got there the surprise was delivered. Grandma Ruth was so happy for her gift and coming to see her.
