555 Ways to Elevate

7 chakras

99 kriyas

111 nights of Kundalini yoga class

Hours spent in posing mudra

Making mind as clear as glass

Breathing fire

Holding poses

555 ways to elevate

Opening crown

Chanting mantras

Growing awareness sitting still with spine straight

All eyes on teacher

Eyes on guru

I haven’t moved my eyes away all year

Cosmic pull

Flesh and soul

A remembered song only us two can hear

A New Year’s Dream

Tried something new

Now I’m hooked on his Kundalini ways

Each time eyes meet

Electric sparks make heat

Divine countenance creates shockwaves for days

No accident here

Paths brought us face to face

Quiet connection

Act of grace

(Do you remember our summer embrace?)

111 nights breathing late

444 lifetimes of fate

555 ways to elevate

Love is the Goal

My guru said there are strings hanging down from heaven tied tightly around everyone’s waist. It’s our miracle line, direct tube to the gods, the conduit for hope and grace.

I pulled the string I couldn’t see—I guess that I believed.

My rope responded,

“To love is the only goal to achieve.”
