THE USE OF ANIMAL FOR TESTING

The use of animals is a complicated topic for some people. It has somehow divided society into debates between scientists, ethicists, and animal rights activists. Some people agree with some don’t, and that's okay, not everyone has the same opinions. While the concerns are valid and must be addressed, in reality animal testing remains a crucial component of medical research and medicine development. When seen with appreciative oversight, animal testing is essential for ensuring the safety and efficiency of new treatments ultimately benefiting both human and animal health. Some of the most common questions asked by the people are the following: Do scientists know how people feel about this? Do they care? Is it better to use animals, animal models or instead use human volunteers? Most people think that is cruel, unethical and mostly scientifically unreliable, people don’t agree because it causes pain and stress to the animal being used. I believe that the use of animals is one of the best ways for testing.
Animals are and have been the best way science has evolved and will continue to. Most animals like rabbits, mice, cats, dogs, and chimpanzees. They are used to simulate the human “body system” like for example the nervous system, cardiovascular system, integumentary system and immune system and even more. As Miss Courtney Bannerman stated on the TEDx talks video she says how she uses a “mouse model of the spinal cord injury that does a really good job at mimicking the human spinal cord” This is better because it keeps the animals safe, in this way animals don’t go through the pain. As Mr. Hartung mentioned the legislation process behind it
and it states that “the legislation does not restrict the free use of animals in science, but it grants and exemption from the prohibition of animals test upon sufficient justification” which is an opportunity for scientists to work with animals and see how they react to certain drugs like antibiotics even for selfcare products for example shampoo, makeup, lotions, soup and more. Why should people care? Well animals are a great part of science and if you may not agree, if it wasn’t for animal testing science wouldn't have evolved too much. Animals help create the better and even may someday be the perfect formula to cure anything. This helps the human race to evolve and continue thriving even more and ever.
Animals have been a great source for scientists to develop their hypothesis. When they develop one they begin to find and answer these hypotheses have to be evaluated to ensure the findings are correct. Animal studies conducted in the laboratory allow scientists to control potentially confounding factors that might affect the outcome of the experiments. When it comes to the animals they have a lot to consider about their safety, and making sure they don't get hurt. As the NIH states all of this is helpful for us to understand. why animals are used and how they help scientists find the correct formulas, and to find a solution to help people to get cured from whatever sickness they have or may have in the future. Animals are the greatest and most important part of the research they help to determine what needs more work, what is right and what's wrong and to find a new way to work things out. The findings also move the scientific process forward setting the stage for future research and studies in humans. And that's how animals are used which some don’t understand how important this is. However people think and believe that this is a cruel process because animals get hurt. But how scientists have explained and shown how animals are used are too stubborn to understand the reality we live in.
Animals have helped to reform the science world to more advance science and potentially grow more and find new medicine and whatever it is to make people healthier. To help humans to grow to a point that right now seems impossible to even think about, so if you think this is cruel don’t worry there are laws to protect them, and scientists are professionals that know how to use them and to keep them safe.
Upon consideration I believe that the use of animals is one of the best ways for testing. As some people don't agree with this concept. Animal testing has led human advancement to a greater opportunity for growth in the scientific field. To help the human population to go through a new door to the unknown, and to find new ways for society to improve. And the most important way to find new medicine to cure the ill people around the world. While both sides have valid arguments about the testing, we all have to admit that science had a huge advancement thanks to the use of animals. Even though we can't ignore the concerns of animal suffering. Ultimately there has to be a balance and that is why the laws are made to protect them. One of the priorities of scientists is to ensure the safety of the lab animals.
